Photohunter : 2015 Aug 12-16 Bali Landscape Outing

again we visit Bali, Indonesia for 5days4nights for landscape hunting … we have many fun and incident happen during the trip.(food poison, sick, long walk, steep staircase….)

day 1 – SANUR

we spend our sunrise near Sanur , but I was food poisoning and not able to share with other … sorry for all . I will try to share their picture here after get their permission.

 

day2/3 – NUSA Penida

we travel to Nusa Penida as you can see from the map, we travel across the sea by ferry ~40min ……

– we will on rush on last day so we decided have Sunrise outing near our hotel .. the wave, seaweed plantation, beautiful sky color .. make everyone busy with shutter

Canon EF 400mm f/4 DO IS II USM Lens testing for birding

I am glad that I have chance to test on this len CANON EF 400mm F4 DO IS 2 … I am here just share some actual test result but not  compare to other len … except some simple physical compare to my usual tele len CANON EF 500mm F4 IS2 …

*** ALL PICTURE use basic RAW–>JPEG with ACR

– no noise reduction

– default sharpen

– default exposure

– default Shadow/Highlight

CONCLUSION from basic test in low light condition :

1. AF speed is FAST and as good as my 500mm F4 IS2

2. from the picture and more test result , it is sharp and without any weird bokeh appear

3. the size and weight real small and light (about 700gram different with 500mm F4 IS2)

4. easily handheld 😀

Negeri Sembilan | liewwk

a famous tourist place ~1.5 hours drive from Kuala Lumpur which locate at Negeri Sembilan.

few spots that can be reference for Nature Landscape

1. Tanjung Tuan light house (need ~30min walk up)

2. near Tg Tuan, Blue Lagoon , good for sunset while low tide

3. near Tg Tuan, Pantai Cermin, a place good for sunrise … but nothing more for foreground

4. Pantai Pasir Panjang

5. Kuala Lukut

Lee Filter Glass Enhancer

not easy to find sample regard what this glass about … finally it is on my hand to have a try … a glass to enhance magenta, red, yellow and feel it really good for dawn light …

both picture with

1. Singh-Ray RGND 2 stop

2. AWB

3. both capture within 1 min

4. same iso, aperture … shutter speed had minor different due to additional glass

 

A. dawn with Singh-Ray RGND 2 stops only

 

B. dawn with Singh-Ray RGND 2 stops and Lee Filter Glass Enhancer

 

 

some may prefer original blue + yellow contrast .. and other may prefer magenta tone …

for me, photography no right and wrong .. just what we want to capture … and we may use it to enhance the magenta/yellow/read tone inside our frame

some of my Non-DSLR pictures

sometime we really enjoy the view do not mean we need a good camera to capture it .. it is always good to enjoy the moment, view …. and even capture with a Point and shot camera, we will still happy to see it

I always bring my Panasonic Lumix LX5 around … and few of my simply snapshot while I am shootnig with my SLR

Patient to wait …

it is always difficult to have what you wish to have in frame (except we make the story to capture ….)

A good example, I was looking at the beautiful reflection on beach

*** above picture is ~1.5minutes after picture below but it look about same before too

and what I have with the “magic minute” moment

The wave "took" over the reflection role ....

with the wave, I have no choice to capture it as leading line instead what I original plan to have the beautiful reflection … so do not change yours position even something change but we make the change into our final output …..

 

**** it is always difficult but we still try our best to capture the beauty of the nature … enjoy ……
