– it is not a new site for this feeding station, 12-13 years ago I got my Blue-headed Pitta similar site and it is not feeding .. the bird just there and it was very fun trip with few good buddies .. Andy Pau, Jasnnie, Ah Lee, Shunfa .. this time we went for feed !!! but the bird came while we arrive and came infornt of me ~4-5feet away without food or hide !!! But after wait for 3 hours .. it came with a chick few times but not the male .. it is a tough time spent with almost 8 hours for Blue-Banded and 3 hours for no male … but this female really beautiful and I think I never got any good picture of female of this bird

Yellow-rumped Flowerpecker is the first endemic tick … very soon with Dusky Munia follow by both White-crowned Forktail & Chestnut-naped Forktail. Very soon , 4 Bornean Bristlehead spotted far but good and long view with scope so a big relief after got this special endemic

We start our early birding just before light come in , we were lucky to saw 4 Orang Utan and a Straw-Headed Bulbul .. than our Targets look for more Pitta, wren-babblers etc ..

before rain hit, we were lucky to had Bornean Banded Kingfisher . too bad the male is way too high to get reasonable good picture ..
…. after dinner, rain stop and we decided to look for minimum one frogmouth or owl for the tour .. within 1km walk and less than 10 seconds wait, the Large Frogmouth stand at the usual perch again for long for us to good view and pictures

– this is one of my favorite hornbill of Borneo/Malaysia. especially seeing it at morning and evening session. Golden light make it look more lovely
– seeing it so many times in the trip but prefer to capture it morning and evening light
– with the CANON R3 and 100500 the flying moment is almost never miss for me even I am shooting on boat or land

– Just got back from a yearly repeated event, a hornbill expedition … we did a short one this year just 1.5 days on the boat. and we able to record 7 (pictures and videos) and 1 seen only
